Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov believes that
Team Spirit’s players were not sufficiently prepared for their match against
Team Yandex in the Esports World Cup 2026 playoffs.
The player made this statement on Telegram.
“Hi, everyone. Unfortunately, we lost to Team Yandex 0-2. The series didn’t quite go our way. We had a pretty comfortable draft on both maps. On the second map, it was probably a little less comfortable, but on the first one, I’m super happy with every pick.
We just didn’t hold our lanes as well as we could have; in some cases, we lacked an understanding of how best to lane, how to handle specific situations, and so on… Our opponents were simply better. Today, they turned out to be better. They play the map better, make better decisions, have a better sense of where to position themselves, how to push lanes, which heroes to use and who to attack, and how to secure objectives.
In many aspects, we simply fell short. It was a similar situation on the second map. On that note, unfortunately, we’re leaving the EWC. We’ll keep training and keep working. See you at The International in Shanghai. We’ll put up a fight there.”
According to a statement by Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov, the coach was satisfied with the quality of the draft but believes that his players were unable to outplay their opponents in the lanes and also performed poorly in terms of map movement. Miposhka believes a similar situation repeated itself on the second map, which is why
Team Spirit was eliminated from the Esports World Cup 2026.
As a reminder, Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov previously explained how he shares responsibilities with Milan “Milan” Kozomara at
Team Spirit.
