Matvey “MieRo`” Vasyunin reported that the decision to replace Gleb “Kiyotaka” Zyryanov with Danil “gpk~” Skutin in
BetBoom Team was made during the ESL One Bangkok 2024 tournament. Team members discussed the idea for about a week, but as a result the decision was made in favor of the more experienced player.
The corresponding statement
BetBoom Team's offlaner made on Twitch.
“It happened at the previous tournament, ESL One Bangkok 2024. We decided to make a choice in favor of a more experienced player. It wasn't an easy thing to do. We discussed it for probably a week. We came to the conclusion that it would be a good decision for our team.”
Gleb “Kiyotaka” Zyryanov took over as
BetBoom Team's offlaner during the post-TI13 reshafles, but missed the BLAST Slam I tournament, where the team, with Danil “gpk~” Skutin as a substitute, won the tier 1 Championship Grand Final for the first time. At ESL One Bangkok 2024
BetBoom Team played with Kiyotaka, but after the tournament the team announced the return of gpk~ to the Dota 2 lineup on a permanent basis.
Recall, earlier Vitaly “Save-” Melnyk, captain of
BetBoom Team, also spoke out about the reasons for the replacement in the lineup, saying that the team originally wanted to keep Gleb “Kiyotaka” Zyryanov.
