One of the key changes in patch 7.37 for Dota 2 is the overhaul of
Medusa, which includes a new ability, the removal of one aspect, and the weakening of one of the hero's most powerful abilities.
Here’s how Medusa has changed in patch 7.37:
Removed Aspect: Mana Pact (provided attack speed but consumed mana).
New Aspect: Venomous Volley. Every fifth attack becomes poisoned, slowing the target's movement, attack, and spell casting for 1.5 seconds. Movement speed slow: 35%. Attack speed slow: 80. Spell casting slow: 50%. Split Shot counts this ability’s effect as an attack effect.
Mana Shield is no longer an upgradeable ability. It now absorbs damage at a rate of 2.4 + 0.1 per hero level per unit of mana. Illusions absorb 60% of this value.
Mystic Snake no longer slows movement and turning. Cooldown increased from 13/12/11/10 to 15/14/13/12 seconds.
New Basic Ability: Gorgon’s Grasp. The hero shoots arrows in three areas in the specified direction. The farther the area, the larger it becomes. Initially deals 30/70/110/150 damage to affected enemies, then inflicts a stun, making them unable to turn, visible to enemies, and taking an additional 100 damage per second. Stun duration: 0.8/1.2/1.6/2 seconds. Radius of the first area: 150. Radius increase: 50. Cast range: 625. Mana cost: 40/60/80/100. Cooldown: 30/27/24/21 seconds.
Stone Gaze: Mana cost increased from 150 to 200.
Level 10 Talent: Bonus to additional physical damage from Stone Gaze increased from 8% to 10%.
Level 25 Talent: "+1.9 damage per mana unit on Mana Shield" replaced with "+1 to the number of areas of Gorgon’s Grasp."
One of the main changes is the weakening of Mana Shield, which was considered one of the best abilities in Dota 2.
Medusa will no longer be able to absorb as much damage as before, which will impact her survivability. However, this may be offset by the area damage from the new Gorgon’s Grasp ability, which could be particularly useful in teamfights. With this new ability, the hero can not only deal damage but also control enemy heroes.
Recall that earlier, patch 7.37 for Dota 2 brought substantial changes to many heroes, also affecting Roshan and reintroducing a powerful item.
