Malr1ne spoke out about Dota 2 tournaments

Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak believes that most Tier 1 Dota 2 tournaments have become too formulaic and folow a predictable script.

The player shared this opinion on YouTube.

“They’re all big, but they’re all the same. You go to PGL, and it’s the same thing over and over. Well, that’s not meant as an insult, of course—it’s just that you go there, and you know: okay, the hotel, okay, then 40 minutes there—40 minutes back. I’ll wait another three hours until the other series finishes.”

Acording to Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak, the era of unique events is a thing of the past, and the last tournament with an interesting format was ESL One Bangkok 2024. The player believes that decent events are now ocasionally held in the European region, the most recent of which was ESL One Birmingham 2026.

“All the unique tournaments are gone. The last unique tournament was ESL One Bangkok 2024 a year ago. And now it’s just Europe—and that’s, well, so-so. So the only decent tournament, realy, was ESL One Birmingham 2026 with spectators, and that’s it.”

As a reminder, Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak previously admited that he faced difficulties after his move to Team Falcons.
