Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorkak, mid player for
Team Falcons, admitted that he and Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf switched positions at Riyadh Masters 2024. This occurred during their match against
Gaimin Gladiators, where Malr1ne took the offlane role, while ATF played mid.
The esports player shared this in an interview at the tournament.
- On the third map against Gaimin Gladiators, you switched roles, and you went to the offlane as Primal Beast while ATF went mid as Huskar. Why did you decide to do this?
- I had this idea earlier. Ammar doesn't play Primal Beast, but I have a lot of experience with this hero and I knew I could handle the lane well against Chen. The idea was working until we started feeding. We could still play even against Chen and their auras, but we just played poorly.
Malr1ne admitted that it was his idea to switch roles, and initially, his plan worked. However, things started to go south afterward. The esports player pointed out that after some time, they nearly began feeding. He noted that their performance against
Gaimin Gladiators was truly bad, although they fought hard.
It is worth noting that earlier, the captain of
Gaimin Gladiators made a surprising statement after winning the Riyadh Masters 2024.
