Former CEO of HellRaisers, lexey «Magician» Slabukhin, in his telegram channel shared his predictions for the upcoming TI2023 qualifiers in Eastern Europe and expressed his opinion about patch 7.34b

lexey «Magician» Slabukhin:

EEU qualifiers for TI12 are about to start. I kept the post until the last, so I wanted to see the grid on which a lot depends. It was also surprising that many teams refused to make reshuffles, since everyone is not in the best shape, but for some reason they decided to play with what they have. It is possible that there will be a full roulette from the patch - an old myth that it was "we" who understood the patch and how to play better than the rest, the mistake of many doters

Predictions:

As for the forecasts. If we talk about the upper bracket, then the favorites were scattered very well so that they would not immediately knock each other out. In pairs, if you go, then: VP-Matreska (Obviously VP), Navi - Nemiga (Most likely Nemiga, but it can easily be an option at 2: 1 from Navi), One Move - Team Sexy (Full random, but rather Team Sexy because that the composition of OM does not have stability), Hydra - UALEIKUMNIHAO (Confidently Hydra). Regarding the latter, I think that Hydra is just the clear favorite to enter TI because the guys are developing quickly from the base stack, plus Lil is a good buff. Here are some factors - that Lil and Rodjer are similar in type of players, and they always give a boost. Plus, they both understand that this is one of the last chances to give everything to the maximum. This is a very strong motivator for any team to have such a player.

As a result, in the final of the upper bracket there will be Nemiga/Navi vs Hydra, where, although he wrote that Nemiga is the favorite, there is a suspicion that Hydra will play for a slot with someone. I don’t consider VP, there weren’t any results even close for the season, so most likely there is a disband there and a complete change of management is just around the corner. Plus, I don’t see any other underdogs right now that will get into the TOP-3 and there will be interesting games. I can change my mind, it all depends on the first matches of the upper bracket if they don’t go according to plan above

About patch 7.34b:

For the first time ever, when Valve developers realized that they heavily buffed the heroes and cut them, and something urgently needs to be done, otherwise qualifications will be played on the same heroes. As if, sorry for the expressions, someone woke up in the office in the morning, saw the rating on dotabuff and ran in time to insert caps and shout “Bleed from the nose, but fix it before qualifications”. Maybe Valve finally took on Dota 2 as a product and everything will be the same as before?
