Magician highlighted a nuance about Cloud9's buyout of the Entity roster

In Alexey "Magician" Slabukhin's opinion, the fact that Cloud9 purchased every player in Entity roster was a very lucrative transaction and there are suspicions that some contracts were almost given for free.

He shared this in a comment to CyberMeta.

"I think they got some contracts for free or for 30-50k. Otherwise, the math doesn’t add up. They got money from BS for 3 months with The International. Let’s say, 80-100k per month. That would be enough for salaries, plus some extra. They wouldn’t have managed with buyouts. So I think the C9 Dota 2 managers are geniuses"

He mentioned that such an agreement is good not only for Cloud9 but also favorable to Entity players who will have all needed conditions and support in order to perform at The International 2024. In turn, Cloud9 tag will appear at the Dota 2 World Championship.

Cloud9 had returned to Dota 2 by completely purchasing out Entity roster with this information being given during Riyadh Masters of that year (2024).
