Maelstorm shared insights into how Team Spirit managed to win The International twice

Team Spirit achieved success and managed to win the title of Dota 2 world champions twice thanks to a clear structure within the team, as well as their subordination, enabling them to achieve incredible results not only in Dota 2 but also in CS2.

This opinion was shared by Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov, a Dota 2 commentator and analyst, in a post on his Telegram channel.

"The leadership structure focused on results bore fruit, but after it was achieved, for some reason, the team did not decline. It was not a particularly successful year, and then they win TI again. Throughout these almost 4 years, they have never been relegated from tier-1; they were either tournament favorites or a team on the decline but still strong. Moreover, each year saw victories in significant competitions"

According to him, not only the team structure but also a sports-oriented approach proved effective, allowing the team to remain one of the strongest in Dota 2 for several years.

"Many times you may have heard that, unlike other organizations, Spirit has a more sports-oriented approach. That is, training camps, discipline, certain norms, schedules, routines, etc. We had plenty of evidence that this approach works better than others"

Maelstorm also believes that this approach helped the Team Spirit CS2 lineup achieve success, as evidenced by the team's triumph at IEM Katowice 2024. There, TS defeated FaZe Clan and secured the Champions Cup.
