Maelstorm honestly assessed the prospects of the legendary Puppey on the tier-1 Dota 2 scene

Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov said that Clement "Puppey" Ivanov is still showing a great level of play on the Dota 2 pro scene, but his roster Team Public is unlikely to perform at tier-1 level.

The Dota 2 commentator spoke about this on his Telegram channel.

"Well, it's too early to bury Puppey completely. They played not great — lost one 1-2, won one 2-1, made an unreal comeback. My verdict is that this roster will never play on tier-1 unless there's a huge improvement. Maybe somewhere at the bottom of tier-1, sadly, I’d like to watch Clement"

Maelstorm noted that Puppey’s results at DreamLeague Division 2 S2 are quite inconsistent so far. However, he pointed out that the team managed to comeback from an almost hopeless situation, so not everything is lost yet. Even though the legendary Puppey still shows a very high level of play, with this lineup it will be really hard for him to compete against tier-1 teams.

It’s also unknown how serious Puppey is about his new roster, since he himself called it a “fun stack” that has nothing to do with Team Secret.
