Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov said that Valve developers should not have removed the Train map from the Counter-Strike 2 map pool, even though the esports player likes playing on Anubis.
The player shared this opinion on Twitch.
“I like Anubis, but I don't think Train should have been removed. They should have removed Inferno, Mirage, or Dust2 — one of the old maps. Inferno is not the best map for competitive play, according to all snipers.”
According to Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, there are a number of maps in Counter-Strike 2 that should really be removed from the map pool. The player included Inferno, Mirage, and Dust2, noting that the first map is not suitable for competitive play in the opinion of many snipers. The esports player also believes that Anubis is not the best competitive map due to unequal conditions for teams.
“Anubis is also not the best in terms of team play. On Anubis, you don't want to play with an AWP anywhere on the CT side because grenade attacks can control the entire map. It feels like you're always being sandwiched. But I think they were unfair with Train.”
Earlier, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov named the main goals of
Team Falcons for CS2 in 2026.
