The Liquipedia platform has launched its own ranking system to evaluate the strength of professional Dota 2 teams. The new algorithm takes into account both individual player statistics and team-wide metrics, including overall form and the importance of tournaments. Despite being two-time world champions,
Team Spirit placed only 4th in the initial rankings.
The system automatically generates a final score by analyzing performances at Tier-1 and Tier-2 tournaments starting from The International 2024. The evaluation is based on two categories:
Individual metrics:
Gold and experience per minute (GPM/XPM)
Average KDA
Positional choices in teamfights
Warding efficiency
Team metrics:
Wins and losses
Roster stability
Player synergy
Teamfight coordination
Hero pool diversity
Tournament significance
According to the developers, special attention is given to in-game synergy between players. Even with strong individual stats, a team with poor internal coordination will receive a lower overall score.
