Upon being caught manipulating the smoke bug,
Team Spirit midlaner, Denis “Larl” Sigitov, surprisingly spoke out against Valve, claiming that the developers could have, could have nipped the diarrhea of scandals blossoming on the Dota 2 landscape in the bud as there was a bug that they had in there for two years.
This pointer surfaced in an interview with eScoreNews.
“Question to ESL, or rather to Valve: ‘How did this happen? The bug has been around for two years, and we don’t know who used it before. I knew it existed. You could use it in pubs, in scrims. I don’t know how many teams knew about it. Maybe it was used in Tier 1 tournaments. Are we now supposed to open every replay and watch at 0.1 speed everyone who clicked it? It’s ridiculous”
He hinted that he was just testing if the bug still worked, and if Valve had fixed it long ago, there would have been no scandal. In other words, the midlaner may have been implying that Valve had always been aware of the bug, but chose to turn a blind eye until a series of scandals involving renowned esports players surfaced on the pro scene.
Before ESL made their call,
Team Spirit made it clear that they were going to deal with Larl for the bug that he exploited.
