Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov said that Valve's decision to stop releasing True Sight and cancel Battle Pass significantly undermined the spectacle of Dota 2 tournaments.
The
Team Spirit manager said this during a broadcast on Twitch.
"In Dota everything ***** has been canceled - everything! True Sight was canceled, Battle Pass was canceled. Why should there be ***** tournaments in Dota? Everything's been canceled. I'm sure if they canceled stickers in CS, there'd be faces like this on the fellow CSers"
He explained that The International used to be as exciting and entertaining as CS2 tournaments. The main role was played by the huge prize pool, which made both spectators and players feel strong emotions and empathy.
According to him, if Valve had made a similar decision in CS2, the popularity of shooter tournaments would have shaken too.
Recall that earlier Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk admitted that
Team Spirit has problems and talked about the consequences.
