Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov said that he got into esports thanks to his passion for Counter-Strike during the early days of this esports discipline.
The Team Spirit manager talked about this on Twitch.
“I got into esports partly because of CS. I played CS, I really liked it, and even back then I was interested in all of this. But back then, esports was like this: you came, paid money to play in the qualifiers, and left.”
Acording to Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov, at that time, the average esports player did not receive any salary, with the exception of the top teams, and he gradually lost interest in competitive CS, but after the army, he became interested in playing Dota 2, after which he received his first offer to work as a team manager.
"Of course, there were no salaries, and there was nothing else either. There were salaries at Virtus.pro, but they were also small. Then I gave up on it and left CS completely. After the army, I started playing Dota, and I liked it.
Then a mutual acquaintance wrote: 'We need a manager for our Dota team. Want to give it a try?“ I said, ”Yes, let's do it.“ And that's how it all started.”
Earlier, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov spoke candidly about patch 7.40 for Dota 2, pointing out the lack of significant changes.
