Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov explained that the team was against Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk becoming Team Spirit captain, as it would only distract the carry.

The Team Spirit manager revealed this during a Twitch stream.

“We don't want it ourselves. Why does Ilya need it? Ilya needs to win games and play Dota a lot. Getting distracted by drafts, preparation, starting from scratch — that's not what we need”

Korb3n emphasized that the team deliberately decided not to give him the role of captain, because his main task is to play a lot of Dota 2 and focus on his role in the team.
