Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov,
Team Spirit manager, said that Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko was not taken as a new midrider instead of Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Hertek because of his poor results at that time.
He announced this during a stream on Twitch.
“When we needed a replacement for Sanja, Vovanchik was ranked 20th at the time. And overall he had a bad year. That's what I'm saying - why didn't they take him? It's very hard to believe and see the diamond in the rough in such results. We had two options: Bzm - first option, or Denchik - second option. That's it. I would have known that Vovanchik would be so hot... So age is not a problem, because Dota 2 has become a more team-oriented game”
According to him, when
Team Spirit were looking for a replacement, No[o]ne wasn't even considered for the role of a mid because of his poor performance. Korb3n pointed out that if it had been apparent at the time what kind of form the player would gain, he would have definitely been invited, but at the time it was hard to believe.
He directly pointed out that Denis “Larl” Sigitov and Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov were considered as replacements for TORONTOTOKYO. The manager also emphasized that age in Dota 2 long ago does not play a key role - now the game is built on teamwork, and alone can not win it.
Recall that earlier Korb3n told what those who want to get to the pro scene of Dota 2 need to do.
