Manager of
Team Spirit Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov has expressed his thoughts on the cancellation of DPC seasons in Dota 2. According to him, it won't be any easier for tier-2 and tier-3 teams to break into major tournaments. He shared his perspective in his Telegram channel.
As the founder of the Yellow Submarine team, which is a tier-3 collective, I haven't yet experienced the promised paradise and free gurias that were supposed to come after the cancellation of DPC, as most people believed. If Pinnacle hadn't given us an invite, which we fortunately justified, we would have been stuck in the dumpster all autumn, losing the only qualifiers for the ESL. Certainly, there will be qualifiers for other tournaments within the framework of ESL, but there won't be room for any mistakes, the format is different, and I don't believe that any of the new mix teams can surpass the top four. Well, it's not a big deal, we are waiting for the development of the tier 2, 3, 4 scenes and we're not complaining.
