John Nathan "johnxfire" Fernandez, a Dota 2 caster, said that the next major patch that could feature a new hero will likely be released 2-3 months after The International 2025.
He said this during a podcast on the Dejet YouTube channel.
"Most likely, after TI, there will be a meta shift, maybe a new hero. I was a little surprised that Kez was not added to Captain's Mode. But it's still a slow process. I think after The International 2025, we'll probably get the bigger changes that everyone is waiting for. Historically, expecting something too big ahead of time is a bit of an overstatement. Usually, major patches come out about a month or two after TI, so we'll have to wait a little bit"
Johnxfire admitted that he expected to see
Kez in Captain's Mode, but that never happened, so the hero will not appear at the World Championship. He also believes that a new hero will be released along with the major patch, but warned that you'll have to wait. The commentator reminded that global updates traditionally come out no earlier than a couple of months after the end of The International.
Recall that earlier, the Frog-Bard will probably become the new hero of Dota 2.
