Jesse "JerAx" Vainikka, a two-time world champion in Dota 2, struggled to stop playing, affecting his personal life. Due to video games, he even forgot how to use a calendar.
He revealed this during an interview on the YouTube channel "Insights: a conversation with"
"It was hard for me to do things and progress other than my career. I didn't know how to use a calendar for a very long time. I played all day and missed meetings because I didn't know where and when I should be. I wanted to learn how to use it in my free time, but I felt tired.
I was too lazy to make myself do anything. I took care of personal matters in the first half of the day, then started playing and went to bed. A routine developed because games kill motivation to do anything else"
He admitted that the constant desire to develop his career in Dota 2 exhausted him and stopped bringing pleasure, so he decided to quit gaming and learn how to use a calendar.
Reminder that JerAx, who played for
Evil Geniusesfor a long time and coached
Team Liquid, offers an unusual service to esports players.
