How to Get Any Knife in CS2: A Detailed Guide

Every knife in CS2 is simply beautiful and expensive. Valve built the high demand and limited availability of knives through a drop system, making them precious items. They are rare—about 0.25% chance of dropping from a case opening. Many players get bored with the default knife but they can’t afford to spend money in-game purchases: skins and cases. This article is a detailed guide on how you can use the CS2 console to give yourself any type of knife.
How to Get a Knife in CS2
It has to be said that this method will only work on local servers, training maps, and some community servers. You will at least see this rare weapon as well as touch it with your hands.
Today there are two ways of testing any knife from CS2; go into offline server and write few commands via console or join community server.
In order for you to have access to any type of knife, one needs to switch ON cheats mode within the console. However, first make sure that either you create or connect a server where cheats are allowed. For instance, start up a practice server (go to “Play” -> “Practice” -> “Competitive Match” then enable grenade camera, infinite ammo and infinite warm-up).
The following commands should be entered sequentially into the game’s command line area. The first one enables cheats while the second one makes it possible for you to drop your own blade:

Keep your crosshair on the knife.

The number you enter next after this command will dictate what kind of rare staff shall your thrown away blade become later on. Instead of number, you shall just change subclass_change and ID of knife you want to check.

How to Get a Butterfly Knife in CS2
If, for example, you want to try the Butterfly Knife, here’s the instruction.
Enter subclass_change 515 in the console while keeping your crosshair on the dropped knife.
Pick up the dropped knife.
It will turn into a Butterfly Knife while on the ground.

If you want to test another knife, make sure to drop it on the ground before using the subclass_change command again, as it won't work while the knife is in your hands.
Conclusion
Please take note that these knives can only be tested on an offline server where one has loaded them. Once a player joins any other server, he/she will revert back to their original starting knives hence this method cannot be used for changing a current weapon to a different one during an official match for example.
We hope our method brings you closer to your desired knife and helps you determine if you like using it before buying. Remember, our method of giving away a knife is safe. You do not have to download anything or worry about being banned by valve by using the sv_cheats command as this will only work on official Valve servers. There should be no more worries about unintentional cheats activation in a competitive game.
