Dota 2 patch 7.41 map changes

In patch 7.41, Dota 2 developers significantly redesigned the map terrain, affecting many objects, including Tormentors, observers, and paired portals. The update noticeably impacts movement routes, lane control, and neutral farming strategies.

Main changes

  • Tormentors and riverbeds: Tormentor fissures were moved closer to the Lotus Ponds, and Tormentor areas are now one level lower than the lane.

  • Lotus Ponds: slightly shifted toward towers on the hard lane.

  • Paired portals: moved closer to the map edges, away from stairs.

  • Neutral camps:

  • Ancient camps at the ends of the riverbed downgraded to medium and shifted closer to bases,

  • Medium camp near the hard lane’s defensive gates is now small,

  • Small camp on the Radiant easy lane shifted north, further from the lane,

  • Large camp on the Radiant easy lane moved toward the hard lane for easier warding.

  • Towers:

  • T1 towers on the easy lane pushed back from pull camps and creep meeting points,

  • T2 tower on the Radiant hard lane shifted left so creeps no longer walk around it from both sides.

  • Ramps and riverbeds: the ramp from the Radiant T1 tower became narrower and moved further from the tower.

  • Flooded camps: medium flooded camp near T2 towers on the easy lane moved closer to the river center; now camp upgrades are limited: one camp can upgrade only to large, while the camp near the bounty rune can upgrade twice, up to an Ancient camp.

  • Tree removal: trees removed near Dire’s small pull camp on the easy lane and Radiant’s large pull camp on the easy lane.

The map update makes movement more predictable, simplifies neutral control and warding, and affects farming and positional play. The new layout forces teams to adapt to changed paths and improved object placement, which can alter the dynamics of the early and mid game.
