Mateus "KingJungles" Diniz, the support player for
Heroic, dramatically refused to shake hands with Edgar "9Class" Naltakyan after
PARIVISION victory in the BLAST Slam 1 match.
The moment was broadcast on the tournament's official Twitch stream.
In the footage, the
PARIVISION players can be seen approaching Heroic to traditionally shake hands. However, when 9Class approached KJ, the support player visibly waved him off, signaling for 9Class to move along.
The esports community had mixed reactions to the gesture, with many viewers disapproving of KJ’s actions, but some defended him. A few believed KJ refused the handshake due to toxic behavior during the match. However, neither team has commented on the incident.
It is also worth noting that 9Class previously revealed that he was kicked from
Tundra Esports due to Martin "Saksa" Sazdov’s return to the Dota 2 pro scene.
