Jean "Gorgc" Stefanovski proposes a replacement for smurf accounts, encouraging professional players to use FACEIT for collaborative play as an excellent alternative to creating smurf accounts for quicker matchmaking.
The well-known content creator and founder of
Team Bald Reborn made this statement during a personal Twitch livestream.
"While there is indeed a problem with extended queue times at high ratings, its root lies in the matchmaking system. Utilizing smurfs doesn't solve the problem; on the contrary, if high-rated players employ this method, others are likely to follow suit. As the number of users creating smurf accounts increases, the situation only worsens. In my opinion, Valve should improve the matchmaking system.
FACEIT is undoubtedly a good option. If people want to play together, FACEIT provides a suitable alternative."
Many professional players' smurf accounts faced a wave of bans from Valve, triggered by criticism from the Dota 2 Reddit community. Members claimed that developers were overlooking the regular use of smurf accounts by professional players in Eastern Europe. Rostislav "rostislav_999" Protasenya was among the first to be sanctioned by Valve, while Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov stated that rostislav_999 prompted developers to initiate a widespread ban wave by promptly creating new accounts for streaming after the ban of the previous ones.
Additionally,
PSG Quest previously released an official statement announcing the departure of one player from the organization's current roster.
