Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski stated that he considers the ranking and integrity control system in Dota 2 to be too chaotic.
The streamer and former pro player made this statement on YouTube.
“I don’t play as much now as I used to. And back then, it wasn’t fun at all. If you look at my clips from three years ago, it seems like I almost never enjoyed Dota. But now I sometimes catch myself having fun. Even when I’m playing solo. Sometimes certain games are actually fun. But right now, the ranking system is a mess, and the reward and punishment system is a mess too. Matches are always one-sided: more than half of them are over before they even start. Because of this, you end up getting frustrated with the game. That’s not fun.”
According to Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski, the outcome of most ranked matches is known before they even start, and all the matchmaking issues cause players’ frustration to build up. The former esports player also admitted that he now plays Dota 2 ranked matches less frequently, but he has nevertheless started to derive at least some enjoyment from the game, which he didn’t experience when he was playing more actively.
As a reminder, Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski previously criticized the Dota 2 developers for releasing patches during tournaments.
