Markus “Ace” Hölgard believes that many in the pro scene are underestimating Medusa's ability to play in the third position in the Dota 2 Patch 7.38c meta.

“I don't think she's been studied yet. On the contrary, she's still underrated. There is, of course, Anti-Mage - the very counterpick that no one wants to play against. But other than him... I don't know, I don't feel like everyone has figured out how to deal with her anymore.”

Furthermore, Markus “Ace” Hölgard noted that the hero performs well when playing as a carry, noting the many uses for Medusa. The player also noted that the hero is the only character in the game on which it is advisable to buy Meteor Hammer, and this item shows itself effectively.

“But it can also be played on her as a kerry, with a different aspect. She has a lot of options in general. True, after Radiance it becomes more difficult, because you can go further on different paths. She's very interesting in that aspect. It's even funny, because right now she's the only character in the game who buys Meteor Hammer at all. And the item in question just looks broken on her. But yeah, he's really good.”
