Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov stated that Cloud9 might actually buy out the entire Gaimin Gladiators roster or even their entire esports organization.

He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

"There’s a rumor spreading online that GG could become Cloud9. It could be a merger, or maybe they bought out the Dota roster. Considering that C9 is a large organization and wanted to re-enter Dota, and had their roster snatched away before, this seems possible. Let’s wait for the official announcements"

He emphasized that Cloud9 is a large organization and has been eager to return to the Dota 2 pro scene, making this insider information seem quite plausible. He suggested that a merger between Cloud9 and Gaimin Gladiators might happen. However, he advised against jumping to conclusions and waiting for official announcements.

On social media, Cloud9 also posted a scene from the movie Gladiator without any caption, which many fans took as a hint that they may be signing the Gaimin Gladiators roster. However, no official announcements have been made by the organization yet.
