The management of Gaimin Gladiators explained that the organization deliberately spread rumors about Markus "Ace" Hoelgaard's departure to buy more time for the signing of Alimzhan "Watson" Islambekov.

This statement was posted on the club’s official page on X (Twitter).

"You can doubt our methods, but not our results, rofl. The paperwork for Watson’s transfer took longer than expected, so the announcement was delayed. Who would have thought that esports is now such a professional industry that signed documents are really needed to announce anything? Lol"

The team explained that there were delays with signing the new player, so to postpone the GG roster announcement, they spread rumors about Ace's departure. Now, the club has apologized and stated that Ace has no intention of leaving.

"Due to the delay and some posts, we were a bit excited. Although leaks are inevitable, we decided to play the ‘let's create false rumors to distract attention’ card. So, we sincerely apologize for shocking you! And no, Ace is not leaving"

Gaimin Gladiators acknowledged that it was a controversial but effective decision to divert attention. Nonetheless, they emphasized that the plan worked, and the team finally introduced the updated roster.

It’s worth noting that Anton "Dyrachyo" Shkredov also left Gaimin Gladiators, as announced by the GG manager.
