Evgeny “Chu” Makarov, the former
OG coach, has spoken about an investigation into Tommy “Taiga” Lee. The player was first suspected during ESL One Berlin Major 2023.
This esportsman told Dota2.ru during his interview.
“We started to suspect him at ESL One Berlin Major 2023. So that recent video didn’t really surprise me”
The coach admitted that he had also been interviewed as part of the team’s investigation and asked not only about Taiga but other players in the lineup as well.
“I was mostly questioned about Tommy. I won’t go into details and there was very little about the team”
Moreover, Chu admitted that although matchfixing is not a rare phenomenon in professional Dota 2 scene, for him and other
OG players it was a real blow to find themselves at the center of one such scandal.
“Dota has been rich in stories of 322 in the past couple of years, mainly in the tier 2-3 scene. But to find myself at the center of such a story was tragic both for me and for the team”
It should be noted that earlier Morf published an investigation into Taiga where he accused him of involvement in 322-schemes, bets against himself and leakage of internal information from
OG.
