Fng spoke out about the reasons for Team Spirit's unstable results

Artem “Fng” Barshak believes that the team structure of Team Spirit prevents the team to rebuild in case of significant changes in Dota 2.

The player shared his opinion in an interview with Cybersport.

“Spirit is probably the hardest thing for me to talk about, because... I really like Spirit's structure. It's built on the fact that every player has to be competent in their field. And at the same time, there are some team values that Miposhka promotes.

But you always wonder: if Dota changes, will they be able to rebuild? Because Spirit, even though they are one of the most prominent teams in Eastern Europe right now, their results have been bouncing up and down. They won TI10, but TI11 is a failure for the most part. It was still more or less the same during the season though.

Next Int they won, Riyadh Masters they won I think the same year. And then they had another half-assed season. What's that got to do with it?

It seems to me from the outside that it's partly to do with patches, that somewhere they're not catching on to the changes in Dota, not progressing fast enough.”

However, the player believes that Team Spirit's clear structure also plays to the team's advantage, as it allows the team to maintain a high level of standards. According to Artem “Fng” Barshak, the captain tries to gather maximum useful information for the squad, but they don't have time to keep up with all the changes. In such a situation, the players also bring their ideas for discussion, but the final decision rests with the captain.

“It's also cool to have a certain structure because it sets a good bar. And then it all depends on external factors: how many publicks you play, what information you gather for the team. Because Miposhka or Silent can't keep track of everything themselves.

There always has to be a process. The captain-leader thinks, the players pour information. And the captain processes this information and gives something”
