Former
Gambit Esports player Artyom "Fng" Barshak shared an amusing story from his days facing off against
OG, when Sébastien "Ceb" Debs accused him of leaking scrim results. However, it later turned out that the real source of the leak may have been much closer to Ceb — inside his own team.
Fng told the unexpected story during a Twitch stream.
According to Fng, the conflict arose after a tournament where
OG lost a match to Old but Gold, which featured Illidan and God. Ceb reportedly told Fng’s manager that Gambit was leaking scrim data and that
OG would no longer practice with them. Fng was confused by the accusation and reached out to Ceb to talk it through.
“It turned out OG were using the Alchemist + carry Venomancer combo only during scrims against us,” Artyom explained. “So when Old but Gold somehow banned exactly those heroes, OG thought the leak came from our side”
Fng insisted that neither he nor his coach boolk had shared anything, but they were the only ones believed to be in contact with Old but Gold, which put them under suspicion. Eventually, the truth came out.
“Later, Tolyan [boolk] told me he was flying with iLTW and Seryoga [God],” Fng recalled. “And Igor [iLTW] said, ‘Just wait till I destroy you with carry Venomancer and mid Alchemist.’ Maybe he just said it as a joke, but that’s what caused OG to suspect a leak”
According to Fng, iLTW later couldn’t even remember if he had said it, but the situation led to quite a bit of misunderstanding between the teams.
