Artem “Fng” Barshak, former
Virtus.pro captain, said that in order to turn from an average player into a real esports pro, you need to play around 10–15 pubs a day in Dota 2.
He talked about this during a Twitch stream
“Right now everyone, I think, plays a lot of pubs. When you want to turn from a pub player into a competitive player, you try to play a lot. 20 pubs that’s a lot. People try to play 10-15. It’s rare to see players who don’t need to play that much. Now it’s impossible. Before yeah, you didn’t need to play super much. Now there are these aspects, talents…”
According to him, the requirements of the Dota 2 pro scene have grown, because the game itself has become more complex. Fng explained that if earlier you didn’t need to grind too much, now the MOBA has aspects, talents, and many other mechanics that you must understand well — and that takes time.
He also noted that playing 20 pubs a day isn’t necessary — in fact, it’s too much. He says that today you need to play around 10–15 matches daily to develop skill and deepen your understanding of Dota 2. Fng emphasized that this is the only way to slowly turn from a regular player into a real pro.
He also reminded that earlier
Team Spirit named the unbeatable hero who helped them secure a victory.
