Esports World Cup 2025 for Dota 2 will take place from July 8 to 19, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The tournament is organized by the Esports World Cup Foundation with support from ESL FACEIT Group and Hero Esports. Matches will be held offline at the Boulevard Riyadh City complex. Sixteen teams are participating: the reigning champions Gaimin Gladiators, eight teams from the ESL Pro Tour, and seven winners of regional qualifiers. Participants are divided into four groups of four teams each, where matches are played in a round-robin format (Bo2). After the group stage, the first-place teams from each group advance directly to the playoffs, while teams ranked 2nd to 4th compete for the remaining slots through a Gauntlet bracket. The playoffs use a single-elimination bracket: quarterfinals and semifinals in Bo3 format, and the grand final in Bo5.
The tournament’s prize pool is $3,000,000. All 16 teams will receive a share of the prize money, with the winner receiving the largest portion. Additionally, an MVP bonus will be awarded to the player with the greatest impact on their team’s success.

Phase 1 - Group Stage (July 8 - July 11, 2025)

All series consist of two games
Top team from each group advance to Phase 3
2nd place team from each group advance to second round of Phase 2
Remaining teams from each group advance to first round of Phase 2
Phase 2 - Elimination Phase (July 12 - July 13, 2025)

4th vs 3rd from groups, winner vs 2nd
Four teams advance to Phase 3
All matches are Bo3
Phase 3 - Playoffs (July 16 - July 19, 2025)
Single-elimination bracket with third-placed match
Grand Final is Bo5, all other matches are Bo3
