ESL Has Officially Canceled Qualifiers in One Region

ESL will no longer hold separate qualifiers in North America.

ESL has changed the rules for regional qualifiers for its Dota 2 tournaments. There will no longer be a separate qualifier for North America.

Instead, there will be a “Rest of the World” qualifier open to teams from the U.S., Canada, Australia, South Africa, and South Asia. Teams from North America will be able to choose which region’s qualifier they wish to participate in.

This decision is likely due to the small number of teams in North America. For example, fewer than 20 teams participated in the regional qualifiers for The International 2025.

The first tournament to adopt the updated rules will be DreamLeague Season 30, which will take place from December 2 to 12.
