Nikita “Panto” Balaganin, captain of Team Spirit, called the change in draft stage the most important part of patch 7.40, because now one side really stands out

The pro player said this in his Telegram channel

“The patch is cool: new hero, nice collector’s, plus they changed the map, which will add at least some new spots for wards, so fights over the exp rune will be even more dangerous in such lowgrounds

They removed the neutral Blade Mail, which is cool, because most of the time it was thrown on supports and it passively killed you in fights. The most interesting change, which hasn’t happened for a long time, is the pick and ban stages: one side now stands out noticeably”

The player noted that he liked the patch, because there are map changes which allow to place new wards, and teamfights and rune fights will become more interesting. Also, Panto is glad about the removal of a very annoying item for supports from the game

Nevertheless, he considers the main innovation to be the change in pick order during the draft stage. According to the player, now one side has an advantage, but he didn’t specify which side ended up in a more winning position
