Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov said that during the first map of the match against
Team Falcons in the Riyadh Masters 2024 playoffs, there was a quarrel between
Gaimin Gladiators players that almost ended in a fight.
The esports player talked about it on Twitch.
“During the Riyadh Masters 2024, which we won, my players almost got into a fight. We were playing against Falcons at the time. On the first map, I was playing Windranger. We were getting crushed so badly, it was a really tilt-inducing game...”
According to Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov, the conflict arose between Eric ‘Tofu’ Engel and Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp due to the low air temperature during the match. At that moment, the esports player thought that the tournament would end in failure for
Gaimin Gladiators, but victories on the next two maps helped smooth things over.
"And at that moment, we said that we were cold — it was terribly cold on stage. And Tofu replied to Seleri: ‘But we're fine on the other side’. And for some reason, Seleri snapped at him: ‘Shut up’. In a very rude manner. And we were getting crushed, we were in a very bad situation. And after 10 seconds of silence, Tofu replied: ‘No, you shut up’. And then there was just a long silence.
There had never been a situation like this before. I thought, “That's it, we've lost this tournament, we're out.” But then, somehow, we won two maps, and everyone was happy.
Let us remind you that earlier Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov named the
Gaimin Gladiators players whom he considers responsible for his exclusion from the team.
