Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov believes that Dota 2 tournaments have become too formulaic, which is diminishing interest in the pro scene.
The player made this statement on Twitch.
“No. Actually, no. All tournaments have become the same. There used to be at least some variety in the audience at LAN tournaments: in some places, people rooted for one team; in others, for another. Sometimes I had a lot of fans come out, and sometimes just a few. That thrill is gone. The emotions aren’t the same.”
According to Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov, there used to be a difference, at the very least, in the fan base, which generated excitement and interest. Nevertheless, the player sees no point in playing Dota 2 again, since he won’t be able to experience the same emotions as before. Dyrachyo also noted that most events now take place in an office setting, which makes the pro scene extremely boring.
“Why play Dota if not for the thrill? In fact, that’s exactly why. I played Dota for the thrill. And I played purely to get the maximum thrill. I had my own playstyle. But office tournaments... Okay, one, two, three, but when they’re all like that—it’s just awful.”
As a reminder, Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov previously reflected on the possibility of transitioning to professional CS2.
