Dread commented on the lack of new players in Dota 2

Andrey “Dread” Golubev believes that Dota 2 has a large fan base, but the influx of new members into the gaming community has slowed due to the lack of significant changes in the game.

The commentator shared this opinion on Telegram.

"Dota has its own large audience that plays it. I don't think there is much growth in new players because they are afraid to change Dota too much. Why change something that works? I think that against the backdrop of the progress and development of other games, it will not gain a large audience. It is ‘living out its days’.

According to Andrey “Dread” Golubev, Dota 2 will remain relevant for a long time thanks to its loyal fans who don't want to look for a new game, but the content creator is dissatisfied with the developers' approach to updating the game, as they are trying to maintain the existing balance instead of looking for new solutions.

"Maybe it will live for 50-100 years, but only because of the people who are used to playing it and watching it. They don't need any other game. At 35-40 years old, you don't want to learn any other games.

I don't really like that they are leaving everything as it is. I would love to see some drastic changes. Obviously, the developers of Dota are unlikely to be interested in this. They prefer to maintain balance and work for the audience that already plays the game, rather than adding something new."

Earlier, Andrey “Dread” Golubev accused Team Liquid players of cheating during a match at PGL Wallachia 6.
