Dataminers have discovered a new mechanic in Dota 2, which will likely appear in the winter event, allowing the Ancient at the base to come to life and transform into a massive combat tree.

The phenomenal discovery was shared by the Telegram channel DOTA_DM.

The footage shows that the dataminer was able to partially trigger the event mechanic. At that moment, the Ancient and the entire base collapse, and in its place appears a huge tree-guardian, which, along with other creeps, goes to attack the enemy base.

Judging by its appearance, the new mechanic seems to be part of the winter event, as the tree is clearly designed like a snowy Christmas tree with decorations.

The developers themselves have not yet commented on this discovery, nor have they announced any new events in Dota 2 after the Monster Hunter crossover.
