The Radiant side is said to be the strongest side in Dota 2 since players playing on that side win 59% of the time against the Dire team because of some imbalances on the map.
This win rate advantage was discussed on Reddit and the reasoning was explained that there are several reasons that result to this.
It turns out that the Radiant side has more favorable map angle and interface view along with a better position to place wards which is lacking from the Dire team.
Reasons why the Radiant side wins more often in Dota 2:
Safe Lane Visibility: The Radiant side also has the option to cut down a tree and place a Sentry Ward which is invisible, but gives a high degree of control through a wide vision range. The Dire side doesn't have these abilities.
Roshan’s Position: At the start, this position permanently gave too much power to the Dire side. Years has passed but the developers still have not resolved the issue. Roshan’s position now is either neutral or rotating regularly.
Issues with the UI: For Radiant, the bottom portion of the screen only covers trivial and safe zones, while enemies are always visible above. The Dire side of the UI is more obstructive, as enemy heroes and creeps tend to show up at the bottom of the screen where the panel covers view, making it more difficult to play.
It is worth mentioning that even the map changes in patch 7.38, did not change the situation much and the Radiant side remains highly favored. Still, some gamers point out that the newest gameplay update did make Roshan's spot relatively more balanced than it used to be.
