A grand event has begun in Dota 2 — the first official collaboration in the game’s history, and Valve’s partner this time is Capcom with its legendary Monster Hunter franchise. The developers have prepared a massive update that introduces new cosmetic items, pets, a hunting system, and even the ability to craft unique items.
According to the official Dota 2 website, the event is already live.
New Sets and Hunting System
The main addition includes six themed skin sets inspired by the creatures of Monster Hunter. Each set is linked to specific Dota 2 heroes and can be obtained completely free through the new item crafting system.
To craft a set, players must go on hunts — completing special missions and gathering materials. These materials are then used to forge exclusive cosmetics and items.
Hero Atlas
Alongside the event, Valve has added a new interface called the Hero Atlas. It tracks each player’s progress during hunts, displays individual hero stats, and acts as a visual achievement log for the event.
Thematic Expedition Pack
In addition to the hero sets, Valve has released a special Expedition Pack featuring monsters and elements from Monster Hunter, including:
Rathalos — the iconic dragon, appearing as a pet or themed cosmetic for Dragon Knight;
Bullfango — a wild beast added as a companion for Beastmaster.
Players can also unlock:
A music pack featuring Monster Hunter themes,
Graffiti,
A Palico courier with alternative skins,
Piggy, a new companion that can be dressed in various outfits,
And Immortal-style variants of the new sets, enhancing hero abilities with unique visual effects.
Event Duration
According to Valve, the Dota 2 x Monster Hunter collaboration will run for three months — from November 11, 2025, to February 11, 2026. During this period, players can participate in hunts, craft items, and complete special event-related tasks.
This marks the first-ever full crossover between Dota 2 and another major gaming universe, and fans are already calling it one of the most ambitious events in the game’s history.
