Dota 2 ban

Dota 2 MMR boosting is something Valve has finally tackled, as suspicious public matches are not counted in the Dota 2 matchmaking anymore.

This was reported by Ilya "Leamare" Silakov, a former Tundra Esports analyst, on his Telegram channel.

“They have quietly made it so that 5v5 boosting matches are flagged as suspicious with yesterday’s update. Degaz_ok also mentioned that many new fields were added to the proto-servers. What this will lead to — we will find out later, I guess”

Leamare observed that the developers implemented this so as to avoid MMR distribution after completion of suspicious games. Also, according to him, Valve has included additional fields into the game servers, the purpose of which is also not fully defined however these might be in aiding the ban of the rule-breakers.

There’s a high chance, that a booster will be flagged and once the number of suspicious matches reaches a limit, the user rules of Dota 2 would get banned or there would be a limitation imposed for doing the matches.

Previously, a hidden update in Dota 2 was observed that significantly impacts matchmaking.
