The latest Dota 2 update has brought hidden changes that add enhanced measures to gathering a player’s match data; this could suggest that Valve is in the process of developing a system that can help in the elimination of bots and/or account users.
Team Spirit analyst Mark “Sikle” Lerman reported the above on his Telegram channel.
“ALARM, it’s live. Apparently, with the update, something was introduced aimed at detecting matches with boosters and/or bots. Or they are preparing, as the coordinator is now collecting more information”
Several gamers including Sikle, have made a common remark regarding the latest matchmaking situation in the game; there is no clear indication what Valve’s stance is at that but the update might be a step in the right direction. Valve might introduce a new feature that ‘detects’ bots and/or account boosters. In the case they do, there will probably be a massive set of bans on users.
However, the developers have not made any official statements on this matter, although they did recently conduct a bot and booster cleanup.
In other news, don’t forget that Valve has updated the rewards and extended the season for Crownfall.
