Dota 2 keys stopped working after the update: how to fix the issue

After a recent update in Dota 2, many users are experiencing issues with their ability keys and other buttons not functioning. This is related to the keyboard layout and has been previously observed in another Valve game, CS2.

Not only casual players but even professional esports players have encountered similar problems. One such player is Roman 'RAMZES666' Kushnarev, the carry for L1ga Team, who shared his frustration during a Twitch stream.

"I've been having issues in Dota for the last two weeks, where if I change the layout, my buttons don't work. It's so annoying"

Interestingly, the problem has mainly affected users from Eastern Europe. To make the keys work again, users need to switch their keyboard layout to English. However, this may hinder communication through text chat for many. Valve is expected to release a fix in the near future to address the situation.

It's worth noting that a similar bug in CS2 previously prevented players from moving during matches, and only the space bar worked.
