Dota 2 game coordinator status: the game has been down for several hours

According to data from the Downdetector tracker, this issue has been ongoing for several hours. Players are unable to join matches regardless of their region. 

Many users have noted that such extended server problems have not occurred in a while. It is suspected that Valve is preparing a major update, which may be causing the Dota 2 server issues.
