Dmitry 'DM' Dorokhin said that the main goal of their new lineup with Felipe 'Astini' Astini is to turn Astini+5 into a tier-1 team.
The esports player talked about it during an interview at PGL Wallachia Season 7.
“We want to become a tier-1 team. That’s why we start from tier-2 tournaments, to get practice. Playing official matches against tier-2 teams is better than practicing with tier-1 teams, who sometimes just test things like Pudge or Techies offlane. First we will practice with not the strongest teams, and then slowly move to stronger opponents. In the future we will try to qualify for big tournaments and play there. That’s basically the plan. We practiced, but not so much, because I left to stand-in for Team Yandex. Right now I’m focused on winning here.”
According to him, Astini+5 wants to reach the level of tier-1 teams, but not immediately. DM explained that they deliberately start from tier-2 tournaments and scrims to get better practice. He also noted that scrimming tier-1 teams can be less useful, because those teams often test new strategies and do not always play seriously.
DM also admitted that the roster has not had many practices yet, because after some early training together he had to leave and play as a stand-in for
Team Yandex.
