Deadlock received its largest Old Gods patch, bringing the game back into the Steam top 10

Valve have released the largest update for Deadlock since launch — Old Gods. The patch significantly reworked key gameplay elements, improved the game’s technical state, and noticeably increased player activity, allowing the project to return to the top 10 most popular games on Steam.

Main changes in the update:
Expanded post-match statistics added, including detailed stats, MVP of the match, and an overall results summary
The damage system has been fully reworked: balance adjustments and a new visual damage indicator introduced
A global rework of the map, camera, vision system, and user interface
Updated settings menu with parameter search and improved navigation
2 new items added, expanding tactical possibilities
A new Street Brawl mode introduced — a fast-paced 4v4 format without farming, focused on pure action across several rounds (similar to Turbo in Dota 2)
Significant improvements to AI, netcode, anti-cheat, and overall client optimization
New music, updated character voice lines, and reworked sound effects added
Improvements made to chat, builds system, replays, and overall visual presentation
New passages added to the map, along with a large number of bug fixes and minor improvements
In addition, the developers have prepared 6 new heroes, but they are currently unavailable. Their release is planned through a community voting system in one of the upcoming updates.

Thanks to the massive number of changes, the game’s online player count more than doubled. Previously, the number of users barely exceeded 30,000, but it has now jumped to nearly 70,000 players. This allowed Valve’s game to return to the top 10 most popular titles on Steam.
