Maxim “Gabe Follower” Poletaev stated that Valve is reworking the Cache map for Counter-Strike 2 practically from scratch.
The dataminer's words are presented on Telegram.
“Valve is reworking Cache from absolute scratch instead of using the FMPONE version. Most likely, this is due to poor optimization, but it is quite possible that Valve has higher quality standards, as this is one of the most popular maps in history.”
According to Maxim “Gabe Follower” Poletaev, the reason for this decision by the developers may lie in poor optimization, but it is also likely that Valve has set a very high bar for one of the most popular maps in Counter-Strike history. The data miner also noted that Valve has begun looking for outsourced employees to work on the Cache map.
“I've heard rumors that they've only just started reaching out to outsourced studios for art, textures, and models.”
Earlier, CS2 developers commented on the progress of work on the Cache map for Counter-Strike 2.
