A new event Dark Carnival may start in Dota 2

Dataminers have discovered that the next holiday event in Dota 2 might be called Dark Carnival, which could serve as an analog to Diretide.

This was reported by the Telegram channel Dota Stepan.

“The possible name of the upcoming event — Dark Carnival”

The dataminer emphasized that this is only a possible title, and there’s no official confirmation yet. It’s also unknown whether the Dota 2 developers plan to launch the event or decided to skip it for now.

Judging by the name, Dark Carnival seems to be similar or thematically close to Diretide, which was usually held around Halloween. However, this year Valve hasn’t released that event yet, but instead added a crossover with Monster Hunter, which pleasantly surprised many fans.

It’s worth reminding that earlier Valve released a mini-patch for Dota 2, adding a very useful feature to matches.
