A small 100 MB update was released for CS2, which caused a lot of excitement in the community, as it mentions some new missions, potentially hinting at preparations for the release of Operations.
This was reported by dataminer Maksim “GabeFollower” Poletaev on his Telegram channel.
“CS2 developers added several old localization tokens for quests/missions, as well as an interesting developer comment: ‘We are keeping the old mission tokens until we can fully transition to a new client and a new game coordinator. Until then, we need to support the old game coordinator, which will send old tokens for mission descriptions, so we need the old tokens’”
The dataminer himself is not sure that this is about new Operation missions, and rather assumes that changes may come to the weekly missions. However, many in the community believe that developers are increasingly preparing for a global client update and, finally, the release of Operations in CS2.
