Andreas “Cr1t” Nielsen said that the replacement of Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak is a problem for
Team Falcons because of hero pools and the overall way the team builds the game around the mid player.
The support talked about this during a post-match interview at PGL Wallachia S7.
“This will be a problem to some extent. I think it’s also about the players themselves. For example ATF and Malr1ne have very overlapping hero pools. So if one of them is missing — we lose a lot in the draft.
If I miss a tournament, nobody would even notice. You can just take any random high-rank player for position four and everything will be okay, because there is not such a big difference.
But in the case of Malr1ne and ATF it’s a problem for us. The guys are a big part of how we build our drafts. That creates certain difficulties. At the same time lorenof joins us, who has been looking very strong recently. Even better than us. We will see how it goes.”
Cr1t noted that if he himself was replaced the team probably wouldn’t notice much difference, but losing ATF or Malr1ne is critical. According to him the main issue is the hero pool and synergy, which means Malr1ne’s absence can negatively affect the team’s results.
At the same time, Cr1t still considers Artem “lorenof” Melnik a strong player who has been showing good performances lately. However for now he still sees drafts as a problematic part of the team.
